Hype happens

It's just like sh*t. And it can hit anyone.

Hype can make a whole planet think something has to be good although it isn't, by all means of logic.

Here's an excellent example of hype happening: All the world bought itself TFT-based digital televisions, and then they find out the current TV formats and analog cabling are incompatible with them, resulting in the old TV showing a better cleaner picture than the fancy expensive new digital thing.

What does that mean for us? Good things don't get thru just by existing.

The world runs half as much on truthiness as it does on sincerity. Can we trust our friends?

Hype hasn't happened for us. See also: Criticism.
