So much excitement about things getting connected to the Internet and capable of communication. In most cases it is just another application of pubsub notifications and messaging - things that make best sense to do using PSYC rather than using more cumbersome protocols. But there is a deeper problem with IoT: If the traditional short-sighted federation architecture is employed a privacy nightmare will ensue. IoT should by all means operate using public-key based routing, using something like PSYC2, to even have a chance of maintaining the privacy our democratic constitutions expect us to maintain. This is discussed further on the page about the distributed social graph concept.
